    ABOUT OUR APOSTLE AND FOUNDER

Starting with a life changing encounter with God on the 4th Sunday morning on March 23, 1973, Dr. Jeannette C. Holmes-Vann surrendered her life to God and thus began a ministry born out of compassion, love and a passion for seeing all of humanity achieve their God-given destiny and potential.
Dr. Jeannette C. Holmes-Vann was born in MaconGeorgia to parents, Harvey Cofer and Gladys Hunt. She was the firstborn of nine siblings. As the eldest, she would often provide care for her younger brothers and sisters while her mother worked outside the home. It wasn’t coincidental, but rather divine order that Jeanette possessed leadership qualities, early in life. In retrospect, it all seemed to work within the plan of God. For He foreknew her destiny as a leader, and a Pastor.

During her childhood, she attended elementary, middle and high school in Jacksonville, FL.. As a senior in high school she was chosen by her class as Miss Congeniality (person with the best personality). Her future ambition at that time was to be a Social Worker. However, she attended Edwards Waters College and Florida A&M University and decided to become an educator. For 21 years she was employed by the Duval County Public School System. Dr. Vann has four (4) children, DeDra, Alison, KendrIa, and Brandon, and is married to Brother Joe Vann.

In addition to receiving the 2005 Spirit of Rosie the Riveter Award, presented by the Mayor’s office, Dr. Vann was also recognized as Woman of Influence by the Business Journal in 2007.

Dr. Holmes has outdistanced many entrepreneurs and ministers because of her expertise and skill in establishing and overseeing start-up operations and projects. This includes the establishment of debt-free facilities, including a fellowship hall, children’s church annex, 200-seat church sanctuary; court facilities for youth; parking lots and an atrium; and passageways to connect the major buildings which are located on a 51-acre throughway.

Adding to the miracles that God has brought to pass through the hands and skill of this amazing vessel is the addition of a newly constructed administrative suite, consisting of conference room suites and administrative quarters for Hope Chapel’s office team.

As Pastor and Founder of Hope Chapel Ministries, Dr. Holmes has established a record company, educational programs, counseling training programs and family ministries to meet the diverse needs of people of all ages. Few have led to many people to faith and life in Christ. For the past three decades her legacy has rested, not in buildings and institutions, but in the lives of people she has helped to transform.
After 48 years of relentless, untiring service to the assembly at Hope Chapel Ministries and the body of Christ overall, Apostle Dr. Jeannette C. Holmes-Vann transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Espirt de Corps Center for Learning is another miracle God has wrought through the hands of Dr. Holmes. The non-chartered, private school, constructed in 2001 is adjacent to Hope Chapel’s Main Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, children’s Church, Daycare (Nursery) and Kindergarten. The multi-purpose facility, which includes an auditorium and cafeteria, is designed to accommodate up to 1,000 people with special emphasis on performing arts, training for service and community enrichment. Esprit de Corps Multi-purpose Complex is the first facility added to the school campus. The complex is adjacent to the school and is the sports facility as well as an inter-scholastic event facility.

The complex consists of a regulation-sized basketball/volleyball court, an indoor walking track, a rhythmic studio, a weight room, an exercise room, planning/instructional rooms, and locker facilities with showers for males and females. The facilities are also equipped with a concession area and public restroom accommodations.
